Summary: I can't even Drill Paper
    Comment:
I recently bought this item at my local walmart, thinking that it would work well, So i put the batteries in and wanted to test on a piece of wood. To my suprise it just sat there and spun, so i took a piece of paper and tried to drill thru it, again no hole just spun, i even put it to my hand and it didn;t make a mark, this is the worst thing i ever bought, i am taking back to walmart and get the black and decker 7.2 volt instead...sucks as a screw driver too

I bought this tool from Wal-Mart while at college about 3 years ago. For the purpose I bought it for it worked well. I bought it originally to make weak tasers from disposable cameras (friends love taking those to parties where people will be drunk). It drilled through the cheap plastic with relative ease and at the time gave me no problems. Since then I have used it in various light to medium projects. Switching light fixtures in apartment, removing old switch covers from wall outlets, installing blinds, etc... Recently I had to pinch my budget and realized that this thing uses a LOT of AA batteries: If used about 5 minutes a day 5 days a week you will need to replace batteries every 2 weeks, I found this strange considering that it runs very slow. Also having to buy the specific bits limits your choices and raises the price of future projects should you need a specific size bit or driver.

I just busted it last night while working on adding a screw to my laundry room shelf. It was my fault for pushing too hard on it.

    Overall here is my summary.

    Pros:
    Low price tag
    Light daily use
    Quick to switch bits
    Takes standard AA batteries.

    Cons:
Limited choice of bits and drivers
    High power consumption
    Limited to light use
    Slow operation

I would have given it a 5 star for lasting so long and the initial price being so affordable. However, with the limited options and price of new parts I had to deduct a star.

Summary: It's a screwdriver, not a drill people
    Comment:
I never had good experience with rechargable batteries. Saw this thing at a big chain store for like 13 bucks. Decided to give it a try. Came with 4 bits and 4 AA batteries. You can't beat the price. To my surprise, this little thing has pretty good torque as a screwdriver. Please don't use it as a drill. RPM is too slow to act as a drill. It's rated at 150 rpm. You may be able to drill holes on some plastic or a really thin piece of wood. But I just wouldn't use it as a drill. It works great as a screwdriver. The motor is a little noisy. But I like the fact that it takes AA batteries.

I purchased one of these years ago and it recently broke. I couldn't seem to find this particular type in any of the big box stores. I ordered online from Amazon and it came very fast. This is the BEST screwdriver I've ever owned. As an aside-my old one didn't work because the batteries were dead (oops). I don't care if I have two. They always come in handy and at a great price.

I ordered the drill on Feb 13, Feb 17th the money was withdrawn from my account. Three weeks later on the day the company had to deliver the drill, I received an email informing me I was being refunded. No apology or reason. I will never order from this company again.
