Product Description Sporting the longest running 28-volt hammer drill on the market, Milwaukee’s V28 lithium-ion cordless kit is always charged up for the beefiest drilling and driving applications. The tool switches easily between drill, drive, and hammer modes for less downtime and smoother transitions between tasks. This ½-inch hammer drill cranks out a whopping 600 inch-pounds of torque for drilling large holes and driving heavy bolts for deck support, playground equipment, and post-and-beam construction. The two variable speeds do it fast, too, spinning along at 0-600 or 0-1800 rpm’s for more productivity. Powering the V28 is Milwaukee’s revolutionary 28-Volt Lithium-Ion battery pack. The 28-volt battery pack weighs less than an 18-volt NiCad pack yet delivers twice the runtime. And, a patented battery design lets you insert the battery in the reverse position for optimal balance when working overhead or in hard-to-reach areas. The V28 hammer-drill comes standard with a ½-inch all-metal, single-sleeve, ratcheting chuck with carbide jaws that keep bits from falling out or slipping. A comfortable non-slip, soft-grip handle reduces vibration and fatigue. For easy transport and access, Milwaukee’s patented Clip-Lok system attaches the tool securely to the operator's belt or tool bag and easily releases with one hand—a boon for ladder work where there’s is nowhere safe to rest the tool. Milwaukee cover’s this kit with a 5-year warranty. --Brian Olson What’s in the Box 28-volt hammer drill, two 28-volt batteries, 1-hour charger, carrying case, Clip-Lok System, side handle and No. 2 Phillips bit

Right tool for the job
|
Comment:
I bought this drill to go with my Socket Jenie to make raising the roof of my Coachmen Futura popup trailer. With all the hype about the torque and warnings about using the side handle I was a little disappointed that it did not have enough torque to do the job. I ended up changing gears on our roof lift assembly and now the drill works great. In fact, now it would be a lengthy and therefore tiresome process to crank the roof up by hand. But with this drill's memory-free Lithium-Ion battery that maintains consistent power for the entire length of the charge, it is the right tool for the job.
Comment:
I too purchased this 28v hammer drill/driver as part of Milwaukee's four piece kit. I'm a DIY guy, not a contractor. I own a big 100 year old place. I've built a 6' fence, and am working on a playhouse / storage shed. I am building with rough cut birch from a saw mill that went out of business years ago. Between the 100 year old fir and this well seasoned birch my smaller drills lacked the torque to sink screws consistently.
Since I purchased this 28v drill, I have yet to meet it's match. It has never failed. I'm a big guy so the weight of this drill is not an issue. When going to a smaller drill, the smaller drill does feel very light after using this one. Having this drill has increased my productivity tremedously on these jobs that require the 600#'s of torque. It's nice to know the torque is there when needed.
The two batteries are plenty to keep you going as long a day as you are up to working. We live so far north that we have summer days with sunlight from 3:30am to 10:30pm. "Rome wasn't built in a day, but you can move a lot of cement in a day". You can get a lot done in a day with this tool. Yes, I love it.

milwaukee 28volt drill, powerful but poorly built

Comment:
I use this drill everyday, and i can tell you its a powerful drill. I bought this drill approximately one month ago and since that day have had the trigger sticking on a daily basis and have had the chuck screw fallout numerous times. I have been lucky enough to find it when it fallsout nearly evertime and i just put it back in. My supervisor owns the same drill and had to send his in for repair for the same problem but when his fell out so did the chuck and the chuck then broke.Well now i have lost the screw this time and decided that this is enough. Brought it back to the store i bought it from for an even exchange. Hope this drill changes my mind but as far as im concerned this drill is a safety hazard and its not just an isolated incident. Dont buy this drill if you want to keep your fingers and dont wanna waste the 400$ this high priced finger hazard of machine will cost you. BUY A DEWALT
Comment:
This tool delivers what it says it will. If you want a tool that is going to work as hard as you do, make working a pleasure and have the safety and strength to continuously deliver, buy this tool. This tool is not a wimp, it is designed to work, is heavy but delivers.
